Arcipelago della Maddalena
This archipelago embraces about 60 islands and isles of granite stone. The largest and most famous are la Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria and Razzoli. Apart from la Maddalena, where there is a town of the same name, and the small-inhabited areas on Caprera and Santa Maria, the other islands are uninhabited and boast unspoilt natural environments. The archipelago is included in the so-called “ Sanctuary for Cetaceans” and also offers a rich variety of bird-life. Whilst the crystal clears waters and the shallow seabed, which surround and separate the islands abound in fascinating marine flora and fauna
