Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo
This area embraces the coastal and marine territories of Olbia, Loiri San Paolo (Ss) and San Teodoro (Nu), from Capo Cesareo (to the north) to Capo Coda Cavallo (to the south), with the islands of Tavolara, Molara, Molarotto, Piana, Cavalli and other smaller isles. It is one of the richest marine reserves in Italy and a paradise for scuba divers with its rich sea bed which abounds in red and yellow horny coral and numerous fish species. The sea bed also offers fascinating beach rocks, with impressive slabs of rock separated by deep clefts or, like the sandbank known as “Secca del Papa”, with spires which, from a depth of 40m, rise up to 15m.
