Penisola del Sinis-Isola di Mal di Ventre

This area lies in the territory of Cabras and embraces the marine and coastal zones of the Sinis Peninsula, from Su Siccu, in the Gulf of Oristano, to the cliffs of Su Tingiosu. In front of the coast lies the granite island of Mal di Ventre and the basaltic rock of Catalano. The marine environment abounds in molluscs and shellfish and the seabed is rich in various tyres of coral and sponges, while Inland, the Sinis peninsula boasts a myriad of marshland lakes, home to numerous flamingos. Since 1971 the area has been part of the wetlands considered of greatest international importance, while the coast presents natural treasures like the beaches of Is Aruttas and Mari Ermi, but also fascinating archaeological sites, such as the Punic-Roman city of Tharros
