Olbia-Costa Smeralda
The airport is situated about 2 km from the city centre and is the second busiest on the island (about 1.5 million passengers a year). However, it is the most important one in terms of tourist traffic. It was recently restructured in a perfect blend of the latest technology and traditional materials, such as granite, so that it is a modern structure but fully respects the surrounding environment. The airport offers passengers a range of services, including bars, a restaurant, a multistore and a Feltrinelli Village book shop. Furthermore, since October 2003 the airport has hosted the degree course in Economics and Tourist Sector Businesses offered by the University of Sassari for the “Costa Smeralda” district.
