Santa Teresa di Gallura
Santa teresa di Gallura was named after Vittorio Emanuele I’s wife. The Savoy king promoted the reconstruction of this town in 1808 to combat smuggling along the coasts of the Gallura region and to deter the expansionistic ambitions of Napoleon. Today Santa Teresa is one of the most famous tourist resorts on the island and enjoys a strategic position directly in front of Corsica and the Maddalena Archipelago
