Regata de is fassonis
The regatta takes place in the enchanting light of the sunset on the Santa Giusta lagoon aboard “is fassonis”. These ancient boats are of Phoenician origins and are made from “su fenu”, a marshland grass which grows around the lagoon. Before the main regatta there is also a competition involving “cius”, wooden boats with flat bottoms which are still used today for fishing in the lagoon.
