Festa del Redentore
The festival is celebrated in two distinct phases, one sacred and the other profane. On the 29th August there is a procession on Monte Ortobene, where a statue of the Redeemer was erected in front of the Church of Nostra Signora di Montenero in 1901. Whilst on the previous Sunday there is a parade of traditional costumes, which takes place in the streets of the town with participants on foot and on horseback from all over Sardinia. The celebrations conclude with the Regional Festival of Sardinian folklore.
