Museo Don Giovanni Guiso
The museum was opened in ther year 2000 in the Palatzos Vetzos, former noble residence of the Guiso di Orosei, then barracks of the real police officers, and was restored by the famous architect Vittorio Gregotti. Museum’s collection comes from the donation of Don Giovanni Guiso, last baron of Orosei. It comprises one interesting collection of old theatres in miniature, coming from the whole Europe; one precious collection of drawings of the “roman school” (Severini, Mafai, Scipione, Maccari, Guttuso, Rennets); one collection of ancients Sardinian books; one collection of scene and high fashion dresses (from the cape of Nurejev to the dresses of the sisters Callot). Finally some senesi works of art, in homage to the city where don Nanni still lives.
